Papa Jungle Gym

Makenna found a new jungle gym: PAPA!  He loves nothing more!

Mama and Mak

A rare photo opp with the photographer.

A boy snuggle

Just a quick snuggle pic of my two boys.

Mak's first hair cut

Can you believe Makenna is 2 years old (and 2 months!) and NEVER had a real haircut?  I suppose it's not that big of a deal for girls.  But the mullet was getting pretty shaggy, so it needed some shaping.  We heard about a place called Fun Cuts in El Paso, designed for children.  We drove around and around the shopping center where it was supposed to be, and it was gone!  So we headed to Super Cuts instead.  They did a great job, and Makenna was so good sitting still and looking where the lady asked her to.
The "before".
Sitting so still.
Not really sure why she made this face.
Bangs trimmed up.
A couple of days later with a shampoo and style.
Fake "cheese".

Before I forget...

I took Kellan to the doc last Wednesday.  He had some goop in his eye, and I suspected pink eye.  It turned out to just be a blocked tear duct.  Anyways, they weighed him at 12lbs, 2 oz.  That's an over 4lb weight gain in his 6 weeks here.  WOAH!!!!  Normal breastfed babies gain an average of 1lb per MONTH!  He's a chunky monkey!

School haps and mishaps.

Makenna is having so much fun at Summer Camp!  She's had a few teary mornings, a few days without naps, and lots of nights with early bed times.
I am finally able to get her hair up out of her face!  Side view.
Front view of the half-pony.
Mastering Papa's iPad.  And tye die shirt she made at school.
So I got a call from school today that there had been a little altercation.  Makenna and a boy were fighting over a toy.  Her face got scratched up pretty good.  She was fine, they cleaned her up.  The school just didn't want us to be surprised when we picked her up.  She was in good spirits at least!
Hard to see, but there are about 4 parallel scratches.
A little blurry, but here are the scratches down the side of her forehead.  I hope the other guy looked worse!  :)

Those eyes!

Thanks to Ken's baby blues, both of our littles got some amazing eyes!!

Nice neck muscles!

Trying to be artsy.

We survived!

We survived! (I think!)  Ken left for his first weekend away since adding to our family.  He is up in Saskatchewan for a volleyball camp and recruiting.  I was a little (ok, a LOT) worried about how I would do on my own.  I was already exhausted and overwhelmed by Kellan's crying.  Ken left Friday morning.  We barely survived that day.  Saturday, Makenna woke up and threw up on me.  It was only a tiny amount, and she seemed fine.  So I fed her breakfast.  Oops, bad idea.  That came back up about 20 minutes later.  She SEEMED fine, but I thought I better not give her any more food.  I needed some supplies from the store, and enlisted our friend Julie for some help.  She was awesome.  She got 7Up, popsicles, and Pedialyte from the store.  Makenna survived the day on just juice, water, 2.5 popsicles, a long nap, and an early bedtime.  More than that, Julie provided a 2nd set of hands that day.  Thank goodness!!!!  Makenna was back to her normal self today (Sunday) and Kellan has been sleeping a LOT better, a lot more consistent, and a lot less crying.  Whew!  Ken will be back tomorrow afternoon.  And Makenna can't wait to go back to school ("schoooo") tomorrow.

Look at our big guy!!!  And what a cutie patootie outfit from our friend Jess!!

My little sickie.
Cheeeeezzzzeeee!

Summer camp!

Makenna went to her first day of summer camp today!  It goes 9am - 2pm, 5 days a week, for 4 weeks.  It's up at St. Mark's, where she will go to "school" in the fall.  Summer camp is loaded with fun!  They get catered lunch on Mondays, swimming on Tuesdays and Thursdays, and all sorts of activities.  This Wednesday is Mini-Golf.  I must say, this will be a nice break for me.  Ken will be working a lot more, I have some work events coming up, and it will give me some alone time with Kellan.  It's so hot here, and I have trouble keeping Makenna entertained inside all day (besides a few cartoons), so this is a win-win-win all around.

They stamped the kids' hands on the first day, which you can see, ended up on her face.
Tired girl after the first day of camp!
Hanging out in the sunshine in our room.
Our gorgeous (BIG!) girl.
Supermodel!
Kellan needed some time out of his diaper to help with a bad rash.  What's funny is that he fell asleep there for about 2 full hours.  Just a couple little squeaks, like this one.
Tummy time nap.

1 month

Happy 1 Month old to our little guy yesterday!

Working on the head control.
Lots and lots of kisses.
And more kisses.

Makenna updates

Makenna has a few new tricks up her sleeve these days!  New words/phrases:
"Where'd da ___ go?  Hereeeeee it is!"  (This applies to ANYthing.  Shoe, Ollie, Papa, Baby, etc.)

She is learning some letters, so this applies to letters also.  "Where'd da t go?  Hereeee it is!  Hi t!"  Letters she can identify: y, o, p, t, i, and g.

"Booo."  Everything is blue.  If I say pink, she says blue.  If I say red, she says blue.  She's a stubborn little turkey.

"Bay."  This is Baby.  She LOVES her little brother.  A little too much at times.  We have to reign in the hugging, kissing, and general loving.  "Where'd da Bay go?  Hi Bay!"
Playing on Papa's new iPad.  She loves the shape sorter app.
Ponytail!!
Enthralled with NKOTB/BSB.  If you don't know what that means, thank your lucky stars.  :)  NKOTB is New Kids On The Block, a boy band from MY day.  Can you believe my daughter is now watching them??
