Kellan is standing, cruising, and getting into more trouble every day!  But he is happy most of the time.  Smiley, laughing, and chasing his big sister.  We've all been sick for about 2 weeks, some kind of lingering cough.  Kellan has been on a nebulizer for his lungs and antibiotics for an ear infection.  If that weren't enough, he started to fall off the couch on Superbowl Sunday, Ken caught him by the ankle, and we heard a loud pop.  He was pretty upset.  I know baby bones don't break very easily, but he wouldn't put much pressure on it.  There's an urgent care up the road....and we decided we would feel better with some x-rays.  No break, but a pretty good sprain.  He's gotten better each day, putting more weight on it, and is back to his old mobile self.  Of all the time Ken and I have been together, we've had emergency room visits twice....BOTH on Superbowl Sunday!!!  (In 2009, Ken was reaching for something on a shelf in the garage, slipped, and grabbed a metal shelf for balance.  He sliced part of his thumb/hand open and had to have stitches and a tetanus shot.)  We decided we're locking ourselves in a padded room next Superbowl!  Makenna is LOVING school.  Her vocabulary has just exploded, and her pronunciations are getting better.  She LOVES music class with Miss Debbie, and we got a CD to practice for their 2 year old program in May.  How fun!  She loves her teacher, Miss Becki, and has lots of friends to play with.  We have already signed her up for the 3 year old class next year, and also got Kellan into the baby class 3 days a week.

January

January has come and gone.  After a December and Christmas jam packed with some relaxing and lots of fun, Ken and I both start to get busy again in January.  The recruiting season is upon us.  Starting on MLK weekend, either Ken or I have a tournament, sometimes we both have the same tournament, and sometimes we have opposite tournaments every weekend until the end of April.  Our first weekend is always at Arizona State University.  Aunt Leslie and Uncle Dave bought a vacation home in Scottsdale, and it is such a nice place to stay and be comfortable.  Makenna even has her "own" room there.  Ken and I took Kellan to work, and Makenna and Leslie spent 2 full days having fun, baking cookies, fixing sprinklers, and playing in the dirt. Here is the rest of January.

Papa and Grammie came for a visit in early January!  This is the Papa-Jungle-Gym.  He is very talented at entertaining 2 kiddos.

Hello Kitty jammies, and a CUTE ponytail!  I wish she would let me do her hair up more often.

In December and the beginning of January, Kellan could get anywhere he wanted by army-crawling and scooting.  Mid-January brought full on crawling!

Christmas!!!!  We made the decision to stay home this year for Christmas.  It was a first for both Ken and me.  We missed our families, but loved starting some Christmas traditions of our own with the kiddos.  Linda and Louise joined us for a few days of eating, drinking, and gifts.  FUN!

IT SNOWED!  We woke up to snow on Christmas Eve Day.  Louise and Makenna made a snowman.  As you can see by the size of his "hat", he was only about 6" tall.  How cute!

Linda surprised Ken with Martino's teacakes.  Ken talks about them every time we are in Burbank, but we never seem to have time.  They are like little breakfast pastry cupcakes.  Yum!!

Ken and I started a Christmas Eve tradition a few years ago to give cozy new pajamas to snuggle up in.  We expanded this year to "anything cozy".  Makenna got these jammies and slippers.  You can also see Louise's slippers.

Makenna had SO MUCH FUN putting out milk and cookies for Santa, and a carrot for the reindeer.  Don't worry, we'll put out the fire before Santa arrives!
